Cookie Policy
Last updated: 11 August 2026
1. What this policy covers
This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage EasyPoint uses, who sets them, and how to control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers personal data more broadly, and is written to align with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA).
"Cookies" here is shorthand. Some of what we describe is not a cookie in the strict sense but works the same way — local storage and an on-device database your browser keeps for us. We have grouped them by what they do, because that matters more than the technology.
2. Essential — always on
These are needed for EasyPoint to work at all. Without them you could not stay signed in or sit a CBT paper.
- Sign-in and session — keeps you logged in between visits and protects your account.
- Security — helps us detect abuse of points, rewards and payments.
- CBT progress — your current paper and answers are held on your device so a dropped connection or a closed tab doesn't cost you the paper.
- Preferences — small choices such as light or dark mode.
3. Performance and reliability
We keep a short-lived copy of some responses on your device so pages you revisit paint instantly instead of re-fetching. This makes EasyPoint usable on slow and expensive connections. It stays on your device and is cleared when you sign out.
4. Advertising — free accounts only
Free accounts are shown ads from third-party advertising networks. Those networks set their own cookies to measure whether an ad was seen, to cap how often you see the same one, and to attribute clicks. We do not control these cookies and we do not receive your identity from them.
Premium members are not shown ads, and no advertising cookies are set for them.
We do not use advertising cookies to build profiles of students, and we do not pass your name, email, phone number or exam results to any advertising network.
5. What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal data.
- We don't use third-party analytics or session-recording tools.
- We don't use cookies to track you across unrelated websites.
6. Controlling cookies
- Your browser — every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and site data, usually under Settings → Privacy. Blocking essential cookies will stop you from staying signed in or sitting a CBT paper.
- Signing out — clears the cached copies we keep on your device.
- Going Premium — removes ads, and with them the advertising cookies described in section 4.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes — for example if we add or remove an advertising partner. We'll post the updated version here and update the date below.
